The Sales Experience was wonderful. It took me a while to decide to buy a new vehicle and I was treated extremely well for delaying my purchase a year or so. Then, working with the Clunkers was a challenge that everyone there took on that first week and were wonderful. It is a team that I would recommend to anyone. Always a smile and kind voice even when there were issues to work out that were unexpected. It is a plus in this day and age to have such a wonderful team to work with and be able to depend on them. I love my new car, especially after driving a new Toyota rental that was similar but just not so much fun to drive last week. Kyle at Lakewood Fordland really went above and beyond in his service. I worked in the hospitality industry (Marriott/Ritz Carlton) for years, so I'm a stickler for good customer service, and Kyle was excellent. He was very helpful without being pushy or coming across as sleazy. He cheerfully stayed until after closing so we could complete our purchase, and also cheerfully helped us with several post-purchase questions about the thermometer/compass that weren't even sales-related. In fact, we were so impressed with Kyle's positive attitude, it helped sway us from the Jetta: the VW dealers seemed to have the attitude that they were doing us a favor, and I'd always prefer to support organizations with both good products and good customer service. On a non-sales-related note, I wasn't really expecting to like my Focus that much; we were just researching commuter cars to replace my Explorer as part of the Cash for Clunkers program. We mainly stopped in for an obligatory test drive b/c a lot of my family works for Ford, and they would be pretty disappointed if I bought foreign. In fact, this is the first car I've actually bought, as all of my prior cars were hand-me-down employee cars. I was blown away by how much I loved the Focus - it had all the features that I was looking for: great gas mileage (I commute from the mountains to Denver at least once a week for school - and had to fill up my Explorer after every trip), iPod dock, sunroof, etc., and (most importantly for me) it was even peppier and had much better handling than my Explorer on the mountain passes. There's nothing worse than being in a car that won't go over 50 mph when you're going up a highway pass! So, to end my short novel, we wound up unexpectedly buying the Focus the same night we test-drove it, due to being so impressed with the dealership service and the quality of the cars. I've gone from liking Fords b/c I've always gotten them free to liking Fords because of the great products/service. Now I understand people's reactions in the "Swap Your Ride" marketing campaign - keep up the great work!
